Concrete Contractor in Dallas–Fort Worth
Concrete performs only as well as what's underneath it. Mesas Build Co. approaches flatwork and slab projects with the preparation DFW's expansive clay soils demand — grading, base, reinforcement and drainage planned before the first form is set.

Planning
Worth deciding early
- North Texas clay soils move with moisture; base preparation and drainage are where budgets earn their keep.
- Reinforcement choices (rebar, mesh, fiber) should match the slab's use — a driveway is not a patio.
- Control joints are planned crack management; their layout is a design decision, not decoration.
- Finish options — broom, smooth, exposed, decorative — should be chosen for traction and use, not just looks.
- Concrete work should be sequenced with the broader project: utilities and sleeves go in before the pour.
Our process on this work
We review the site, the drainage picture and the intended use, then propose a scope covering demolition, preparation, reinforcement, finish and curing. When concrete is part of a larger project, we sequence it so other trades aren't waiting on cure times unexpectedly.

Questions
Concrete FAQs
Concrete services are available across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, as standalone flatwork projects or as part of larger construction scopes.
Why did my last driveway crack, and how do you prevent it?
Most flatwork failures in DFW trace to soil movement, thin sections, poor base preparation or missing joints. We plan base, thickness, reinforcement and joint layout for the load and soil conditions. Concrete can still hairline-crack — control joints exist to decide where.
Do you remove the old concrete first?
When replacement is the right call, yes — demolition, haul-off and base rework are part of the scope. Overlaying failed concrete usually transfers the old problems to the new surface.
How soon can we use the new surface?
Foot traffic and vehicle use have different windows, and weather affects both. Your proposal includes cure and protection guidance for your specific pour.
